Short Bio

Eleanor Martin writes upmarket fiction that explores privacy in a commoditized world, feminism, sexual violence, self-control, and power dynamics shaped by gender and entitlement. Her work examines how systems—professional, cultural, and personal—collide in moments of moral pressure. In addition to being an author, she is Director of Business Development for internal transactions and M&A at Best Buy and a former mergers and acquisitions attorney. She holds a BSBA from the University of Miami and a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School, and lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with two cats, a horse, and a bearded dragon.

Fun Facts

• She cannot watch television or listen to music at an odd-numbered volume.
• She has a longstanding fascination with tornadoes and mountaineering disasters and has watched nearly every documentary and video available on both.
• She writes almost exclusively from her bed so her cats can sit on her at the same time—a method she admits is not especially efficient.
• Her favorite novel is Jane Eyre, while her favorite film is Pride and Prejudice.
